Château de Vianden

Vianden Castle (French: Château de Vianden, German: Burg Vianden Luxembourgish: Buerg Veianen), located in Vianden in the north of Luxembourg, is one of the largest fortified castles west of the Rhine. With origins dating from the 10th century, the castle was built in the Romanesque style from the 11th to 14th centuries. Gothic transformations and trimmings were added at the end of this period. A Renaissance mansion was added in the 17th century but thereafter the castle was allowed to fall into ruin. It has, however, recently been fully restored and is open to visitors

Völklinger Hütte

A visit to the World Cultural Heritage Site at the Völklingen Ironworks is an adventure: the visitor can go down deep into the dark corridors of the burden shed and climb up to the lofty heights of the blast furnace viewing-platform. The multi-media introduction to the sintering-plant takes the visitor on a journey through time, from the beginnings of the Völklingen Ironworks right up to the present day. From the roof of the ore shed, a view opens up over the town of Völklingen and the active works of Saarstahl AG. An impressive panorama at any time of year, both by night and by day.At the granulating-plant, the laid out picnic area, located between colourful aquatic plants and uncompromising steel offers visitors a chance to relax. Then there is the ascent to the top platform 27 metres above ground: where the raw materials were once tipped into the blast furnaces. If anyone feels like going up a little further, they can climb up to the viewing-platform of the blast furnace group from which an incomparable panorama can be seen. The top platform, spanning a length of 200 metres is now open to visitors: altogether an impressive experience. The tour continues by walking via the coal track, with its new 20 metre long spiral chute, over the blower shed footbridge into the blower shed. Here the blowers can be seen: giants of iron and steel which generated the blast that was then channelled into the blast furnaces.A tour of the World Cultural Heritage Site, with more than 5000 metres of exciting and well signposted walkways will generally take between two and three hours. The World Cultural Heritage Site at the Völklingen Ironworks: one of the most exciting places in the world.

Achei muito fresca e divertida. Um pouco frutada demais.

Bottle from Asao. Clear golden, tall, fine head. Somewhat thin looking. Fruity aroma, apples, spicy, estery, hpney. Dull. Flavor is of spiced apples, hpney, very sweet and cloying, but with a bit of a fruity tang. Spicy

Crítica:
Poured a light and clear yellow color with a larger sized white head. Lots of larger sized floaters. Aromas of yeast, fruits (apples and pears), and lightly spicy. Tastes of yeast, grapes, citrus, and some spices. Some alcohol in the finish.

Ciney

Gostei de a beber mas não me marcou.

Tipo: Cerveja, Ale, Belgian Dubbel
Origem: Alken-Maes, Bélgica
Características: 7º

The Belgian Dubbel is a rich malty beer with some spicy / phenolic and mild alcoholic characteristics. Not as much fruitiness as the Belgian Strong Dark Ale but some dark fruit aromas and flavors may be present. Mild hop bitterness with no lingering hop flavors. It may show traits of a steely caramel flavor from the use of crystal malt or dark candy sugar. Look for a medium to full body with an expressive carbonation.

Crítica:
25cl into a tulip. Pours a dark cola, deep garnet when back lite. Dense mocha colored head, nice sheet lacing. Aroma is of spicy dark fruits, hints of ginger, clove and port. Taste is fairly strong of raisins and figs backed by quiet roasted caramel. Flavor matches the scent. Aftertaste is short lived. Improves with warmth as vinous qualities appear. Smooth medium bodied mouthfeel.

Orval

Gostei bastante da complexidade desta cerveja.

Tipo: Cerveja, Ale, Authentic Trappist - Belgian Specialty Ale
Origem: Abadia de Notre-Dame d’Orval, Província de Luxemburgo, Bélgica
Características: 6,2º,

Cor: Cobre profundo. Espuma Média formação e média duração, bege. Aroma: Doce, malte, lúpulo, vinho/madeira, cítrico, toffee, condimentos.Sabor: Médio corpo e média/baixa carbonatação, seca, amargor de lúpulo, toffee, maltes, doce, fermento.

Crítica:
Pours a gorgeous hazy orange with a gigantic off-white head. The smell is amazing! Vey similar smelling to a white wine. Grapes, oranges, and a little grapefruit. There is a little pine and nuttiness followed by sweet sugary smell. A little boozey but in a nice way. Tastes of sweet malts with an extremely crisp and refreshing hop note. Very citrusy and grapey like the nose. It's kinda funky, not in a horse blanket kind of way but it has a slight twang to it. Extremely well balanced. Extremely refreshing. Nicely carbonated. Not very thick and is easily quaffable (I wouldn't dare though) A truly unique Belgian ale. Very distinct and delicious.
