Nationalpark Bayerischer Wald

„Leaving Nature to its Own Devices!“ that is the philosophy of the Bavarian Forest National park. And indeed, nowhere else between the Atlantic Ocean and the Ural Mountains, there is such a large area of forests with their bogs allowed to grow and develop into a unique landscape of primeval forest- according to their own laws, into a true “wilderness”.The Bavarian Forest National Park was Germany's first national park, inaugurated on 7th October 1970. This national park forest displays a genuinely independent and self-assured existence; it shows its transience and evolution and thus its autonomy. Storm damage, bark beetles, snow damage, red deer, lynx and wolves, willow-herb and snowbells, tinder fungi, broken trees, rotten tree trunks and an impenetrable young forest - all this can be found in the National Park's wild forest.
