We are a restaurant on Main Street Killarney, specialising in steaks,fresh fish,traditional Irish dishes,oriental,continental & vegetarian specialities. Internationally recognised for our award winning homemade dairy ice-cream for the past 17 years. Our 100 seater restaurant caters for special occasions & events. Denis and Catherine McMahon established their world famous Macs icecream in Killarney, Ireland in 1992, retailing ice-cream & coffee. Demand for their secret recipes grew and a small manufacturing unit & restaurant were established in 1995. The restaurant was refurbished in Feb 2007 Mac's of Main Street, is open in the heart of Killarney. A Cead Mile Failte awaits you.

We almost left this restaurant because it seemed so disorganized. Everyone who is waiting for a table just stands in a long queue until they get to you. But the menu looked good so we held out and were glad we did. Although the service was rushed, the food was really good and we thoroughly enjoyed it. They had an amazing cocktail menu and a good variety in their main menu. My husband had a traditional Irish stew that he really enjoyed, and I had Stir Fry Noodles. We're not normally dessert eaters, but the line we stood in was right in front of where they were making the desserts and they looked amazing so we had to try one. We had the apple and rhubarb crumble that was fantastic! For anyone going to Killarney, don't be put off if you have to stand in a queue at this restaurant - the food and drinks will be worth it!

Me and my family were in Killarney for 10 days in which we dined out every evening after returning from our days touring in this wonderful area, we had eaten in quite a few places in town but by far Mac's was the best, both with food and staff, it was great for us as tourist as most of the staff were locals and our waiter was able to advise us on where to go and what to see in the area, the food was amazing and they change there specials on a daily basis. They also make all there own icecream which is way better than Ben& Jerrys back home. This Restaurant is great for the family, tourist, groups and even the romantic couples as they have loads of space approx 100 seats, a must if in killarney, my most enjoyable in Ireland
